AI and Automated Decision-Making Policy

1. Why this separate policy exists

Matching and safety tools can use rule-based software, ranking models or machine learning. This notice distinguishes systems verified in operation from later capabilities that may be introduced. A 'smart recommendation' does not establish that TrueLove performs face recognition, criminal screening or AI-driven emotional assessment.

2. Recommendations

The first-release matching rules use member-selected gender, age and height preferences, approximate location where available, eligibility and blocking controls to filter potential matches. You can adjust your preferences. Future ranking tools may consider separately disclosed activity, language or relationship-goal signals. A recommendation is a discovery aid, not a statement that another person is genuine, suitable, recently active or consenting to contact.

3. Trust and safety support

Current rule-based controls limit repeated actions, message length and daily sending, and can temporarily restrict visibility when serious-report risk criteria are met. They use relevant account, activity, report and prior-enforcement information. An automatic risk flag is not a finding of wrongdoing or a criminal determination. Reports and significant restrictions can be referred for human assessment; request review through support@shantechsolutions.com with the subject “Safety review”. Machine-learning classifiers or a general-purpose AI moderator are not represented as operating merely because these rules exist. If introduced, their relevant uses will be disclosed separately.

4. Sensitive and biometric data

Optional sexuality, religion or ethnicity fields must not be repurposed to infer vulnerabilities, discriminate unlawfully or target sensitive advertising. No biometric face template, identity-document scan or emotion analysis is authorised merely by uploading a profile photo. Any such future feature requires a separate purpose assessment, consent where legally needed, strong retention limits and a policy update before collection.

5. Generative AI and model training

We will not use members' private messages, intimate images or profile photographs to train general-purpose generative models without separate, specific and informed permission. Safety scanning of content does not automatically confer training rights. If we introduce an AI chat assistant, synthetic match profile or computer-generated message, we will label it clearly and explain the relevant limitations and safety risks.

6. Australian automated-decision transparency

From 10 December 2026, APP 1.7–1.9 apply to an APP entity where a program uses personal information and makes, or substantially and directly assists with, a decision reasonably expected to significantly affect someone's rights or interests. Where this requirement applies to us, our Privacy Policy will explain the kinds of personal information used and decisions made wholly by, or substantially assisted by, programs. Not every ordinary ranking algorithm necessarily triggers this threshold.

7. Challenge, review and documentation

Contact support@shantechsolutions.com with the subject “Privacy / automated decision review” regarding access, correction, a significant automated restriction or appropriate human assessment. To explain and review relevant decisions, records may include the applicable rule or model, purpose, information categories, reviewer actions and relevant dates. We do not guarantee bias-free or perfectly accurate results, or a fixed review time not communicated for the request.
